Sam Brabham thankfully walked away unscathed from a heavy accident, barrel rolling into the tyre barrier during round 11 of the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship at Oulton Park. The 19 year-old’s JTR Mygale, however, proved beyond repair, forcing the grandson of the late Sir Jack Brabham to miss Sunday’s final round 12 battle.

Sir Jack Brabham King Of Monaco 55 Years Ago

The sad passing of Sir Jack Brabham earlier this week was felt at the FIA Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monaco this weekend. The Principality was where ‘Black Jack’ took his first major championship win outside of Australia 55 years ago this month, paving the way to his first of three World Championship titles. Current F1 stars Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen were among the drivers to pay tribute to the legendary driver and engineer.
